John Waite Web Board
Welcome to the JWWC Web Board. This is the forum for fans to come
together and discuss everything John Waite, from his music and tours,
to his changing style.
In order to post to the web board you MUST register first.
Just click on the word "register" in the menu from within the web board
itself.
Below is a simple FAQ and things to know about the JWWC Web Board, and
why it may be more convenient than the mail list (listserv).
What is a Web Board?
A web board is an automated system that allows members to submit a letter
(known as a 'post') for others to read. People who read your letter may
respond to you by e-mail or by replying to it on the bulletin board.
Why is a web board more convenient than the mail list (listserv)?
One of the most important aspects of a web board is the fact that it is
globally accessible -- no need to access your e-mail account to be able
to read or post to it -- just come to the website and login from any
computer, anywhere. For a more robust experience, you can also choose to
have the web board e-mail you whenever someone replies specifically to
one of your own posts! You won't have to come back and check everyday
(unless you want to) to see if someone has responded to your topic. Last
but not least, whenever you return to the web board it will let you know
which topics have new posts or replies -- a little virtual lightbulb will
be lit up next to the topic in which new posts and responses appear (and
the web board will let you know the date and time the most recent
letter was posted).
Do I have to register in order to be able to submit my own post?
Yes. It makes for a much friendly environment.
How do I register?
Click on the word "register" from the menu along the top of one of the pages
in the web board -- fill out the form (name and e-mail are required, the
other fields are optional). You will receive your password at the
e-mail address you provided within a few minutes. You can then
login to the bulletin board and post.
Can I change my password or e-mail later on?
Yes -- (click on "profile") DO NOT CHANGE THEM AT THE SAME TIME.
When you change you e-mail address it will re-assign you a random
password so that it can verify your e-mail address as valid.
You can then log back into the system and change your password.
If you are not changing your e-mail address you can just go ahead
and change you password without the first step.
Do I have to put my UserName and Password in each time I come?
If you click on "preferences" from within the web board and tell the
system to remember you, you should not have to -- each time you come,
the web board should know who you are and automatically put in your
UserName and Password. If you tell the system NOT to remember you,
you will have to enter the information each time.
Okay, I'm registered, how do I post?
When you come into the JWWC Web Board you see a list of topics.
Click on the one in which you want to submit a post. This will take you
to that particular forum. From there you can click on the topic you
wish to read, or you can click on "POST NEW" to post your own.
When reading a topic someone else has posted, you will also have
the option to "REPLY".
Please remember to be courteous to other people using the web board. This
is meant to be a friendly forum where opinions can be discussed and ideas
shared. It is important to remember that even though we all love John
and his music, the outlook of others may be a little different and we
need to respect that.
